Here is a heads up, a preview, from La Petanque Mariniere and Ed Porto about the Qualifier tournaments for the Junior and Women's teams to be hosted by our great club in San Rafael, CA during the weekend of July 17-18, 2010.
Women's Qualifier
Saturday: qualifying games
Sunday: pools and elimination
Juniors' Qualifier
Saturday and/or Sunday formats will depend on turnout.
Saturday "Open" Select Doubles Tournament
Space may be limited depending on turnout in the main events, so advance reservations may be required.
Format will depend on number of teams.
Sunday "Open" Select Triples Tournament
Space may be limited depending on turnout in the main events, so advance reservations may be required.
This tournament will include teams from the main events who do not qualify for their respective pools and playoffs.
Format will depend on the number of teams. The tournament will be completed in time so that everyone can watch the Qualifier finals.
Lunches will be available and/or included in the entry fees. Details to be announced by La Petanque Mariniere.
There will be a very reasonably priced court-side BBQ on Saturday evening after the games are completed. Details and reservation forms to come.
Awards ceremonies and aperitif at the courts will follow the games on Sunday.
La Petanque Mariniere is gearing up to make this a great weekend - for all our Qualifier participants, for those who would like to compete in either or both of the "open" tournaments, and for those who come as spectators and supporters.
